Help us welcome Laura Barrett to the Carthage ISD family! She will be teaching English at CHS this year! "I was inspired by my senior English teacher to become a teacher," Mrs. Barrett shared. "I start my teaching career here as a student teacher and I'm happy to be back."

Help us welcome Julissa Alcala to the Carthage ISD family! She will be teaching Spanish at CJHS this year! "I'm excited about being part of a community that's so welcoming and always there to help," Mrs. Alcala shared.

Help us welcome Kaitlyn Isbell to the Carthage ISD family! She will be teaching Kindergarten at Primary! "I've always loved being part of this district," Ms. Isbell shared. "I want to be the teacher that helps kids realize they can achieve anything, no matter what!"

Help us welcome Savannah Bates to the Carthage ISD family! She will be teaching ELAR at Baker Koonce this year! "I'm happy to be in my hometown, teaching kids in my own community," Mrs. Bates shared. "There is just something about that Bulldog pride!"

Help us welcome Tionna Graves to the Carthage ISD family! She will be teaching Kindergarten at Primary this year! "Education runs in my family," Ms. Graves shared. "I really enjoy working with children and showing them their full potential."

Help us welcome Becky Rogers to the Carthage ISD family! She will be teaching ELAR at Baker Koonce! "The spirit and positivity I've experienced makes me excited to be a Bulldog," Mrs. Rogers shared. "I love to read and learn new things and I want to share this with my students."

Help us welcome Shanice Gaston to the Carthage ISD family! She'll be teaching Math at BK! "In high school, we had pep rallies at the elementary school," Mrs. Gaston shared. "I thought if they were in awe of me then, how much more of a difference I could make as an educator."

Help us welcome Grant Johnson to the Carthage ISD family! He will be teaching Geometry at Carthage High School this year! "I wanted to become a teacher because my coaches and teachers made me realize I had a passion for helping students," Mr. Johnson shared.

Help us welcome Andrea McNaughton to the Carthage ISD family! She will be teaching Math at Baker Koonce this year! "The teachers I had while at CISD inspired me to become one as well," Mrs. McNaughton shared. "Marilyn Hart is who made me love math!"

Help us welcome Kristy Cawthon to the Carthage ISD family! She'll be teaching math at Baker Koonce this year! "Being a Bulldog means working with wonderful teachers and being where my children are," Mrs. Cawthon shared. "I love children and believe that each has potential."

Carthage ISD will be applying for ESSER Funding that addresses learning loss and safe operation of its schools. The funding is a one-time opportunity for Texas schools. All funding will expire on designated school years according to TEA guidelines. CISD understands the use of the funds for ongoing purposes could result in funding deficits in future years after the funding expires on 9/30/2023 and it makes no assumptions that the state will provide replacement state funds in future years. Covid-19 follow up vaccines will be available Tuesday, July 13th from 4:00-6:00 pm at the CHS Performance Arts Center. Children 12-17 years of age must have a parent with them.

CISD summer feeding program starts this Tuesday, June 1st and ends Thursday, July 29th. The program will be Monday through Thursday each week from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Children up to age 18 years old are eligible and pick up is at the Libby Elementary bus ramp!

A vaccine clinic for those 12 and older will be at the Performing Arts Center on May 25th!

We got this wonderful shout out to Mrs. Schumacher and wanted to share: "Carthage Primary is blessed to have Mrs. Schumacher running that campus. She is a wonderful principal. She has always been available when I have a concern and is genuinely interested in what I have to say. She loves those students in her care and it shows. I can't be there to love on and protect my boys 24/7, but it sure is easier to leave them for 8½ hours a day in her capable care."
