The mission of Carthage ISD is to work together to consistently provide an engaging and successful learning experience for all students. 

The Office of Curriculum and Instruction supports campus leaders, educators, families, and the community of Carthage in providing high-quality curriculum and instruction to our students to ensure that they are college, career, and citizen ready. 

The Office of Curriculum and Instruction supports and oversees:

  • The implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Use of the TEKS Resource System in the development of a viable curriculum

  • District and campus accountability

  • Textbook and instructional materials adoption and selection

  • Subject area support, guidance, and alignment

  • Assessment and data-driven instruction

  • Pedagogy support for educators

  • Professional learning for educators

  • Dual credit and gifted and talented education

  • Technology integration 

  • Targeted improvement programs

  • Summer school programming

  • Monitor multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)

  • Texas assessment programs (STAAR, TELPAS, ECDS)

  • Section 504

  • Emergent bilingual programs

  • Dyslexia programs

  • Coordinated health programs and nursing

  • Counseling programs

  • Special education
