Today, Friday, April 18 is the Good Friday holiday and all Carthage ISD campuses are closed. Monday, April 21 is designated on the school calendar as a Bad Weather Makeup Day. Since we not used any bad weather days this school year, we do not need to use it as a makeup day—so students and staff will enjoy an extra day off! Carthage ISD has been awarded $14,315.68 through the 2024 TPS Safety Grant! 🎉 This funding will be used to upgrade campus security cameras, enhancing the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors. Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his incredible legacy. 🌟 Here are some quick facts about MLK Jr. Day: 🇺🇸 It became a federal holiday in 1983 and is celebrated every third Monday of January. 📅 First observed: January 20, 1986 🏛️ Dr. King’s 'I Have a Dream' speech was delivered during the 1963 March on Washington, attended by over 250,000 people.
