Carthage ISD is proud to announce that Ms. Catherine Jackson has been selected as the Region 7 Secondary Teacher of the Year. The Region 7 Education Service Center announced the honor at their annual Teacher of the Year luncheon today in Kilgore, where all the district Teachers of the Year were celebrated.
Ms. Jackson teaches English at Carthage High School and serves as the National Honor Society advisor. She will go on to represent Region 7 as a semifinalist in the 2023 Texas Teacher of the Year.
“Ms. Jackson is a great ambassador for the field of education and for Carthage ISD,” said Superintendent Jarrod Bitter. “She is an excellent choice to represent Region 7 as Teacher of the Year and we wish her well as she moves on to compete at the state level.”
Also representing Carthage ISD at the Region 7 luncheon was Elementary District Teacher of the Year Melissa Blissett, Kindergarten teacher at Carthage Primary.
