Carthage ISD is excited to welcome Kim Rocka as the coordinator of elementary instruction. Mrs. Rocka joins the Curriculum and Instruction Department this week to begin preparations for the 2022-23 academic year.
“We are very excited about adding an experienced administrator like Mrs. Rocka to the district,” said Director of Curriculum & Instruction Allen Koch. “We know she will be a great asset to our elementary teachers and principals.”
Mrs. Rocka’s position is new to the district and will provide instructional support for campuses and programs that serve students in pre-k through sixth grade.
“I am so excited to be joining such an amazing district,” said Rocka. “My passion is helping students, and this opportunity to support the instructional efforts of a great district is exactly what I was looking for.”
Mrs. Rocka earned an Associate of Arts from Blinn College in 1987, a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1989, and a Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University in 2003.
She began her career in education in 1993 as a first grade teacher in Jacksonville ISD. In addition to her experience in the classroom, she has experience as a librarian, assistant principal and principal in Brenham ISD, and district recruitment coordinator for Bryan ISD. In addition to her K-12 experience, she spent several years working in higher education as a clinical supervisor at Western Governors University and as an academic advisor at Blinn College. She also owned her own business, a boutique in Brenham, for seven years.
Mrs. Rocka has been married to her husband Tim for 32 years. Together, they have three adult children, Courtney, Colten and Caylee.
