The Charles C. Matthews Foundation has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to education by making a generous $100,000 donation to the Carthage ISD Education Foundation. This transformational gift will continue to enrich educational opportunities for Carthage ISD students while supporting innovative teaching across the district.
The donation will provide funding for campus grants that empower teachers to bring creative,
hands-on learning experiences into their classrooms, as well as student scholarships that help graduating seniors pursue higher education and future career opportunities.

investment in our students and educators allows us to fund meaningful classroom experiences and provide scholarships that help our graduates achieve their dreams. Their partnership has made an immeasurable difference in Carthage ISD."
Carthage ISD Superintendent Glenn Hambrick echoed that appreciation. “The Charles
Matthews Foundation gifts over the years have provided educational opportunities for Carthage ISD students that otherwise would not have been possible. There are just not enough words to express our gratitude for the generosity shown to our children. The impact of this grant will undoubtedly be felt for generations to come.”
Each year, the CISD Education Foundation grants provide teachers with opportunities to introduce innovative programs, technology, instructional materials, and unique learning experiences that extend beyond traditional classroom funding. Scholarships funded through the Foundation help deserving Carthage High School graduates continue their education and prepare for successful
futures.

The current trustees of the Charles C. Matthews Foundation are Richard Ballenger, David Bush,
Jim Payne, Vern Reeder, Robert Underwood and Chad Smith. Their leadership and dedication
continue to create lasting opportunities for Carthage ISD students and educators.
