The Carthage ISD Education Foundation awarded 68 classroom grants totaling $235,601.85 during its annual Grant Patrol on Friday, surprising Carthage ISD educators across the district with funding for innovative projects and student learning experiences.
This yearās grants will support a wide range of initiatives, including literacy and math programs, science lab equipment, fine arts experiences, career and technical education resources, instructional technology, and hands-on learning opportunities for students at every grade level.
āThis is one of the most exciting days of the year in Carthage ISD,ā said Superintendent Jarrod Bitter. āThese grants reflect the creativity of our teachers and the generosity of a community that continues to invest in our students in meaningful ways. We are grateful to the Education Foundation, its donors, and everyone who helps make these opportunities possible.ā
Grants were awarded at campuses and departments across the district, including Carthage Primary, Libby Elementary, Baker-Koonce Intermediate School, Carthage Junior High School, Carthage High School, and the Special Education Department.
Campus totals for this yearās grants were: Carthage Primary, 10 grants totaling $29,855.54; Libby Elementary, 14 grants totaling $39,759.88; Baker-Koonce Intermediate School, 18 grants totaling $48,970.45; Carthage Junior High School, 12 grants totaling $55,174.17; Carthage High School, 13 grants totaling $54,378.42; and the Special Education Department, one grant totaling $6,400.

The annual Grant Patrol highlights the impact of community support and educator innovation, funding opportunities that extend learning beyond the traditional classroom and create meaningful experiences for students throughout Carthage ISD.
