Clayton Elliott and Abraham Santana

Carthage High School is proud to announce that two band students have been selected for the prestigious Association of Texas Small School Bands All-State Band following recent auditions.

The students earning this distinguished honor are:

  • Clayton Elliott, French Horn

  • Abraham Santana, Trumpet

Selection to the ATSSB All-State Band represents the highest level of achievement for small school band students in Texas. The audition process is highly competitive, with students advancing through multiple rounds before earning a place among the top musicians in the state.

Elliott and Santana will travel to San Antonio to participate in an intensive clinic during the Texas Music Educators Association convention, scheduled for Feb. 11–14. The experience will conclude with a concert performance featuring the state’s top student musicians.

ā€œMaking the All-State band is one of the highest honors a musician can achieve, and it comes with a sense of pride that cannot be explained,ā€ said Carthage ISD Director of Bands Todd Dock. ā€œAs they prepare to travel to San Antonio next month to perform with the best musicians in our state, it's important that they know they bring honor to their families and to Carthage ISD. We are excited and extremely proud to have returning All-State musicians, and proud to see these students continue to uphold our tradition of excellence.ā€

Carthage ISD congratulates Clayton Elliott and Abraham Santana on this outstanding achievement and commends the Carthage High School band program for its continued commitment to excellence.
