Opaa! Food Management Meeting with Carthage Staff

Carthage ISD is proud to announce a new partnership with Opaa! Food Management as the district’s food service provider, beginning with the 2025-26 school year. The decision was approved by the Carthage ISD Board of Trustees during the May board meeting following a comprehensive review and selection process.

Opaa! Food Management, a family-owned company with a 47-year legacy of serving schools across the Midwest and South, is known for offering fresh, nutritious, and kid-friendly meals that are both affordable and customizable for the unique needs of each school district. With a strong emphasis on scratch-made and freshly prepared meals, Opaa! will bring a renewed focus on quality and variety to the cafeteria experience for all Carthage ISD students.

“We are excited to welcome Opaa! to the Bulldog family,” said Superintendent Jarrod Bitter. “Their reputation for excellence in school food service and their focus on meals made with fresh, quality ingredients aligns well with our emphasis on an exceptional student experience here in Carthage ISD. We believe this partnership will significantly enhance the overall dining experience for our students.”

Through this new partnership, students and families can expect an expanded menu, more made-from-scratch options, increased variety for special dietary needs, and a greater emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables. Opaa! also offers interactive student engagement opportunities, including taste tests, themed meal days, and wellness education programs.

As part of the transition, Carthage ISD and Opaa! will work together over the coming months to ensure a smooth handoff in operations and clear communication to students, families, and staff. Additional information about the meal program for the 2025-26 school year, including menus and pricing, will be shared in advance of the fall semester.
