Carthage ISD Board of Trustees with Darrin Peeples

Carthage Independent School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Darrin Peeples as the Director of Safety and Security. With an extensive background in law enforcement and school safety, Darrin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our district.

“I am extremely excited about joining Carthage ISD and to assist in fostering a safe and secure learning environment where students and staff can focus on excellence in education,” said Peeples. “Together, we will ensure that safety continues to be paramount for Carthage ISD, enabling every individual to achieve their goals. GO DAWGS!”

Darrin earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University and is on track to complete his Master of Science in Public Safety from Liberty University in May.

Prior to joining Carthage ISD, Darrin served the community as a Texas Game Warden for nearly 14 years, where he gained invaluable experience in law enforcement, public safety and community education. He has also worked as a school resource officer and served the Region 7 Education Service Center as a school safety specialist for the last year and a half.

Darrin holds several certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), including Master Peace Officer and Instructor certifications, as well as a school-based law enforcement certification. He is also certified as an emergency medical technician (EMT-B) and holds an advanced NIMS/ICS emergency management certificate. Additionally, he is an ALERRT active shooter instructor and an ALICE active threat trainer.

"His extensive background in law enforcement and specialization in school safety makes him an incredibly valuable asset to our district. I look forward to working with Mr. Peeples to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and community."

He and his wife, Alyssa, have been married for 12 years, and have three young boys, Drake (9), Hunter (7) and Justin (5).
