Carthage ISD Bond Election Results All Three Propositions Passed

All three propositions on the Carthage ISD bond election ballot passed today. The bond election was presented to voters in three separate propositions.

Proposition A, which includes Baker-Koonce Intermediate renovations and district-wide maintenance & improvements, passed with 86% votes.

Proposition B, which includes phase 2 of the baseball/softball complex & resurfacing of the turf & track at Bulldog Stadium, passed with 86% of votes.

Proposition C, which includes instructional technology, passed with 87% of votes.

“On behalf of the Carthage ISD Board of Trustees, staff, and students, we want to thank our taxpayers and community for the overwhelming support in passing this bond election,” Carthage ISD Superintendent Jarrod Bitter said. “As we continue our work to provide every student with a quality education and an exceptional experience, we are excited about the opportunities that this bond package will provide.”

Construction on both Baker-Koonce Intermediate and the baseball/softball complex is scheduled to begin this summer. Estimated completion for phase 2 construction on the baseball/softball complex is January 2024. Estimated completion for the Baker-Koonce Intermediate renovation project is December 2024.

With the approval of this bond, there will be no increase to the Carthage ISD tax rate.
