Duchess Jayla Davis is the daughter of Tramiane and Jamie Davis.  She is the granddaughter of Thomas and Roberta Weidner, Ricky Reese and Cynthia Davis.  Jayla is a member of the Lady Dawgs soccer team and participates in the Panola College dual credit program.  Jayla is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and her memorable moments include the fun times and hard work with her soccer teammates.  She plans to become a nurse practitioner after high school.

Jayla’s escort is Jakerrian Roquemore.  He is the son of JaHavian & Maxene Roquemore and the grandson of Darell & Carolyn Roquemore. Jakerrian is a four-year member of the Bulldog football and baseball teams. He earned first team all-district football honors in 2021 and is a member of CHS Student Council. Jakerrian plans on continuing his football career after graduation.

Duchess Mara Hodges is the daughter of Daniel and Tara Hodges. She is the granddaughter of David & Elesa Hodges and Jesse & Patti Rushing. 

Mara is a varsity cheerleader and a three year All-American cheerleader.  She is a member of the Lady Dawg volleyball team where she was selected to the All-District Academic team. She also earned first team all-district honors in both 2020 and 2021.  Mara was a member of the Area Champion volleyball team both her sophomore and junior years at CHS and is a member of First Baptist Church.  After CHS, she plans on attending the University of Texas in Tyler to major in health-science.

Mara’s escort is Montrel Hatten.  He is the son of Elizabeth Owens and the grandson of Annie Owens, Winford Owens and Sherry & Joey Luster.

Montrel is a member of the Bulldog football, basketball, and track teams. He was a member of the 2020 state championship football team.  Montrel is on the CHS A-B honor roll and is a member of Sheppard Street Church of Christ youth group.   Montrel plans on attending Oregon State University to play football and major in kinesiology. 

Duchess Za’Kyra Myers is the daughter of Romekia Allison and the granddaughter of John Allison, Constella Smith, Sheila Burch, Ray Pipkin and Shanon Pipkin.

Za’Kyra is a member of the Lady Dawg basketball and track teams, and a member of the student council.  After graduating from CHS, Za’Kyra would like to go to college to become an occupational therapist.  She would also like to play collegiate sports.

Za’Kyra’s escort is Kadadriane (K.D.) Bell. Kadadriane is the son of DeAdriane and Shalmica Bell and the grandson of Francis Bell and Iradell Brown and the late Silas Brown.

K.D. is a member of the Bulldog football, basketball and track teams.  He earned first team all-district honors in football and was a member of the 2020 state championship football team.  His memorable moment is getting to be coached by “the greatest of all time/the GOAT” Coach Surratt.  K.D. is a member of First Assembly of God in Christ. He would like to attend college to pursue a degree in kinesiology and play football.

Duchess Tessa Smith is the daughter of Keith and Tammy Smith.  She is the granddaughter of Tony Smith, Jeff and Rita Moody and Noel Brown.

Tessa is a four-year member of the Lady Dawg softball team, and is the volleyball team manager.  She earned all-district honorable mention honors both her sophomore and junior years at CHS.  Tessa is a member of the A honor roll and participates in the dual credit program with Panola College.  After graduation, Tessa plans on furthering her education and becoming an echo tech or ultrasound technician.

Tessa’s escort is Noah Paddie. Noah is the son of Chris & Brooke Paddie.  He is the grandson of Bennie Paddie, Sandra Walsh and Jerry & Wanda Hanszen.

Noah is a member of the Bulldog football and baseball teams. He was named to the all-state baseball team and earned first team all-district honors in both football and baseball. Noah is a member of the student council.  After graduating from CHS, Noah plans on playing baseball for the fighting Aggies of Texas A&M University.

Duchess Talynn Williams is the daughter of Kendrick and Shandi Williams and the granddaughter of Mike and Debbie Ellison and Tina Marshall.
 
Talynn is a member of the Lady Dawg volleyball team and National Honor Society. She earned first team all-district volleyball honors both her sophomore and junior years at CHS.  Talynn was also named to the all-academic volleyball team both her sophomore and junior years. She participates in the dual credit program with Panola College and is a member of the Pine Burr yearbook staff. After graduation, Talynn would like to become an ultrasound technician.

Talynn’s escort is Connor Cuff. Connor is the son of Randall and Kassi Cuff and the grandson of Mike & Connie Wester and the late Burlene & Charles Cuff.

Connor is a member of the Bulldog football and baseball teams. He was named Offensive Most Valuable Player in baseball and Newcomer of the Year in football.  Connor is a member of First Baptist Church and plans to play baseball for the University of Louisiana after graduating from CHS.

Carthage High School will celebrate Homecoming the week of September 19-23.  The Homecoming court ceremony will be before the varsity football game on Friday, Sept. 23.  The senior football players select the five homecoming duchesses, and then the duchesses choose a senior football player to be their escort.
