Carthage High School graduates DaQuives Beck and KJ Edwards were presented with their Whataburger Super Team honors today at Whataburger in Carthage, recognizing their outstanding achievements as student-athletes and the impact they made during their Bulldog football careers.
Beck and Edwards both graduated from Carthage High School in December and are now attending Texas A&M University this spring on football scholarships.
Beck was selected as a linebacker on the 2025 Whataburger Defense Super Team, while Edwards earned recognition as the Running Back on the 2025 Whataburger Fanās Choice Super Team.
Presented by Dave Campbellās Texas Football and Whataburger, the Whataburger Super Team honors 40 standout Texas high school football players from across the state. According to Dave Campbellās Texas Football, fans cast more than 600,000 votes to help determine this yearās honorees.
āItās one of the best honors you can get, to be one of the 40 players selected for this award,ā said Carthage Head Football Coach Scott Surratt. āFor both Qui and KJ to be recognized like this says a lot about the kind of players they are and the kind of young men they are. Weāre proud of both of them and weāre excited to see what they do at Texas A&M.ā
Beck and Edwards were joined by family, former teammates, coaches and classmates during the presentation ceremony held at the Carthage Whataburger this morning.
