Welcome to Baker Koonce Principal Kiley Schumacher

Carthage ISD is excited to announce Kiley Schumacher has been named the principal at Baker-Koonce Intermediate School. Mrs. Schumacher will begin serving in this new role with the district for the 2022-23 academic year after serving as the Carthage Primary principal since 2009.

“I am excited about the opportunity to grow in my career within Carthage ISD,” said Schumacher. “As a proud Bulldog myself, I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to serve the students in my hometown and am looking forward to working with the team at Baker-Koonce.”

Mrs. Schumacher, a 1996 graduate of Carthage High School, earned her Associate of Science degree from Panola College. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and Superintendent certification from The University of Texas at Tyler, and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Mrs. Schumacher began her career in education in 2000 as an elementary teacher in Tyler ISD. She has classroom teaching experience at both the elementary and secondary levels, and began her administrative career in 2005 with Carthage ISD.

Mrs. Schumacher has been married to her high school sweetheart, Shawn (CHS Class of 1994), for 22 years. They have four children, Si Lane (CHS Class of 2021 and freshman at Northeast Texas Community College), Zane (junior at CHS), Eli (6th grader at Baker-Koonce), and Eden (2nd grader at Libby Elementary).

Mrs. Schumacher replaces Ms. Clarinda Collins who served the students at Baker-Koonce for the last four years. Ms. Collins recently accepted an opportunity on the administrative team at Carthage High School.
