The LRC will host poet/author Sara Holbrook on Tuesday,
March 8. Ms. Holbrook hails from Ohio and is being brought to us by a grant
from the Carthage Education Foundation. In preparation for her visit, the
library and Language Arts department are coordinating some poetry activities
for the month of February featuring many of Ms. Holbrook's poems.

A poem a day will be read in Language Arts classes |

Doors will be decorated from favorite poem |
 |
Students will select a favorite poem and write a 500 word
essay on how that poem relates to them or someone they know.
Forty-five of the top essays will be eligible to attend a workshop conducted
by Ms. Holbrook. |

Parents and Education Foundation members are
invited and encouraged to attend her performances. She makes poetry fun!
Ms. Holbrook's books are available for purchase in the LRC.
She will autograph and personalize the books with students' names when she
comes to visit.
