CJHS Band

Season's Greeting,
We are now starting another six weeks and time for a little more information from Seventh Grade Band. We have quite a few things on schedule from now till Christmas. The Christmas parade is December 1st. The kids will wear their band shirt and jeans. They may wear a turtleneck shirt (red/black/white) under their shirt to stay warm, but the outer garment must be the band shirt. We will be marching as one unit with the eighth grade. We will meet in front of the Junior High and dismiss in front of Baker-Koonce. Please have a plan of action with your child about where to pick them up. We will not be returning to the band hall. All students, who are eligible, are required to attend the parade. Please remember if your child has an emergency and can not attend, I must receive a phone call from you to excuse the absence.
Also, many students are preparing for the All-Region tryouts on December 12th. These tryouts are to be held in Rusk. We need a few chaperones for this event. If you would like to go, please call me.
Our Christmas concert is December 9th at 6:30 PM. The dress for this concert is nice “Sunday” type clothes. The concert is required of all students.
Grades for this six weeks include the parade, the concert, playing the A flat and F scales, and practice sheets. Remember that practice sheets are still due every Monday. Remember that this is a big part of the student’s grade, so PLEASE make sure they are turning them in on time.
I hope you had a chance to see the Seventh Grade Band at the game and pep rallies. They are doing an excellent job. Please remind them for me that their hard work is really paying off. Thanks for providing me with such great kids!
