A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Carthage Independent School District will be held on June 19, 2007, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Boardroom at #1 Bulldog Drive, Carthage, Texas.

 

The subjects to be discussed or considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are listed below.

NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE

 CARTHAGE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

 BOARD OF EDUCATION

 

Notice is hereby given that on the 19th day of June 2007, the Board of Education of Carthage Independent School District will hold a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Carthage Independent School District Administration Building, #1 Bulldog Drive, Carthage, Texas 75633.  The subjects to be discussed are listed on the agenda, which is attached to and made a part of this notice.

 

If during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a closed meeting, the Board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Section 551, Subchapters D and E of Texas Government Code § 418.183(f). Before any closed meeting is convened, the presiding officer will publicly identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting.  All final votes, actions, or decisions will be taken in Open Meeting.  [See BEC(LEGAL)]

 

Texas Government Code Section:

 

551.71   Private consultation with the Board’s attorney.

551.72   Discussing purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property.

551.73   Discussing negotiated contracts for prospective gifts or donations.

551.74   Discussing personnel or to hear complaints against personnel.

551.75   To confer with employees of the school district to receive information or to ask

            questions.

551.76   Considering the deployment, specific occasions for, or implementation of security

            personnel or devices.

551.82  Considering discipline of a public school child, or complaint or charge against

            personnel.

551.83  Considering the standards, guidelines, terms, or conditions the Board will follow,  

            or will instruct its representatives to follow, in consultation with representatives  

            of employee groups.

551.84  Excluding witnesses from a hearing.

 

Should any final action, final decision, or final vote be required in the opinion of the School Board with regard to any matter considered in such closed session, then the final action, final decision, or final vote shall be either:

 

(a)     in the open meeting covered by the Notice upon the reconvening of the public meeting; or

(b)    at a subsequent public meeting of the School Board upon notice thereof; as the School Board shall determine.

 

On this 15th day of June 2007, this notice was faxed to the news media that has previously requested such notice and an original copy was posted on the window of the School District Administration Building at 10:00 a.m., on said date.
